It seems another Guinness record is coming to Bangaloreans! Sujtha Dut and Suneetha Prakash – known in music field as ‘Bangalore Sisters’ (like Bombay Sisters in classical music) are applying for the record soon and getting ready the necessary documents.

On which ground the Bangalore sisters are applying for Guinness Record? Sujatha and Suneetha have sung for more than 1000 ‘Suprabhatas’ – they have not left any god and goddesses so far. Collecting data we are approaching the Guinness says Sujatha Dut speaking to this correspondent on Saturday evening at Green House Raj Milan.

Singing devotional songs mainly Sujatha Dut and Sunethra has initial training from grandparents and parents. Sujatha Dut frankly admits that she is not trained in classical music. Marrying at an early age of 17 years Sujatha Dut was studying PUC. For five years she looked after the family and the singing ability in her was recognized by GK Venkatesh, Mysore Mohan, Manoranjan Prabhakar etc Sujatha Dut was more in to basic programs.

Sujatha recorded her voice for more than 300 Kannada film songs starting from ‘Gili Bete’ in 1988. Jointly with her sister Sunitha rendered voice for over 5000 songs so far.

From last one decade she is not accepting Kannada film songs because – the music director get the track voice and most of the times use it for the film for peanuts. They don’t pay what we are supposed to get when the same song is incorporated for the film and CD. Secondly for our voice they used some other names. This is a big insult feels Sujatha Dut.

Leading a comfortable life is because of singing accepts Sujatha Dut. Her husband was textile businessman Dattatreya now leading a retired life. Sujatha Dut is proud because she was able to give good education to software engineer son and graphic designer daughter. Both are married and settled down makes her even more happier.
